Tritech AM-300 Acoustic Modem
The Tritech AM-300 Acoustic Modem provides a seamless interface for underwater data transmission at both long ranges and high data rates.
Incorporating the Spread Spectrum capabilities of the Tritech AM-100 Acoustic Modem; the AM-300 Acoustic Modem provides operators with a single system suitable for almost every underwater application.
The modem's spread spectrum data link is programmable between 20 and 200 bit/s, offering a reliable data transfer with Signal-to-Noise Ratios (SNR) as low as 6dB (i.e. noise power = 4*signal power). In an environment with severe reverberations (i.e. multipath, doppler) or where there is a moving platform (+/- 5m/s) the spread spectrum technology offers the data transfer guarantee that is often an essential requirement.
The modem's Q-PSK data link can be programmed to operate between 8000 and 16000 bits/s, providing a highly reliable data link for transfer of high volumes of data (i.e. logged files, pictures, video, etc) When operated in a near vertical mode it is possible to transfer data over ranges of up to 6km at 9.6k bit/s underwater. By utilising the phased array a horizontal data transfer range of 2km is possible at 16k bit/s.
Using this state of the art technology it is also possible to achieve reliable range information with an accuracy of up to 10cm.
The AM-300 Acoustic Modem can be supplied in a number of forms, from a fully sealed unit with internal batteries to an OEM module for installation in the operators' underwater housing.
